Made with 100% malted barley in the Coffey stills at the Miyagikyo distillery, this whisky is often referred to as “Japanese Scotch.” Notes bright lemon, apricot, vanilla on the nose with notes of bittersweet chocolate, toast, dried fruit and lemon peel on the palate!
Nikka was founded in Hokkaido in 1934 after Masataka Taketsuru spent time in Scotland to learn the art of making whisky. Miyagikyo distillery is Nikka’s second distillery in Sendai built in 1969.
